Are you burdened with parents who love you so much that they won't quit being a parent even if you are no longer a child? Even though you may not be a "child" remember they are still a parent. I know sometimes this type of parent can be a "thorn in the flesh" and would just plead that those "children" that are not children will have patience and realize any concern is done through love and concern and not control. Only when the golden age is experienced can one totally understand that once a parent always a parent!!!

We as older parents have our own shortcomings and we are aware of them. Unfortunately, we also have seen the devestating effects of drug and alcohol abuse. The abuser thinks that he is only affecting himself and no-one else. that is hogwash because the druggie or alkie always brings his family into the problem. We know because we have been helping clean up messes for 20 years so if one thinks they are hurting no-one but themselves, then they are really in denial and full of hogwash.
I can think of worse burdens than parents who love you :-)
Thats true a child stops being a "children" but a parent is always a parent..LOL..if you do it just right by the time they hit adulthood you got them so ticked off they avoid ya like the plague..then you are still a parent...but you are a retired parent. LOL.
Personally.."understanding it" when/if I reach golden years..seems unfathomable at times...parenting seems to be so very much heart ache...
